Requirements
Must:
- Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
- Proficiency in the configuration of firewalls and switches.
- Ability to administer and support next-generation firewall and security solutions, including Palo Alto Networks or F5.
- Experience in setting up security policies, access control lists (ACLs), and threat prevention mechanisms.
- Skilled in managing Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), routing, and network segmentation across Cisco and Palo Alto platforms.
- Proven ability to monitor and maintain Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) performance.
- Familiarity with implementing and supporting Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and other perimeter defense systems.
- Experience collaborating with Telecommunications teams to maintain communication channels with field devices, including Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs).
- Basic understanding of cabling infrastructure and general networking principles.
- Knowledge of routing protocols, particularly EIGRP and OSPF.
- Strong capability to work independently as a self-starter and adapt quickly with remote support.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, mainly between Las Vegas and Reno offices, as well as to substations within the Nevada area.
Responsibilities
- Configure and manage Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls and switches.
- Administer next-generation firewall and security platforms, ensuring robust security policies and threat prevention.
- Oversee the management of VLANs, routing, and network segmentation across designated platforms to facilitate secure communication.
- Monitor and enhance WAN and LAN performance to guarantee redundancy, failover ability, and high availability.
- Implement and maintain Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and perimeter defenses to secure NMS applications from external threats.
- Collaborate with the Telecommunications team to support communication channels with various field devices connected through the Distributed Energy Integration platform.
- Assist with basic cabling infrastructure and general networking tasks as needed.
- Engage in independent work while effectively adapting to remote support conditions.
- Participate in travel duties to different office locations and substations as required.
