Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator and Application Owner.
- Strong grasp of server operating systems, particularly Red Hat and Ubuntu.
- Experience with web servers, notably Apache.
- Practical knowledge of the Yii1.1 framework.
- Proficient in PHP programming, with an understanding of MVC architecture and web application development.
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Familiarity with network protocols and services including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
- Background in network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Awareness of server and application security best practices.
- Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and conducting security audits.
- Knowledge of relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Capability to perform database backups, restorations, and optimizations.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with cloud service platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat and Ubuntu servers.
- Execute routine system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Monitor server performance and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure system reliability.
- Uphold backups and disaster recovery protocols.
- Oversee and maintain the Yii1.1 application hosted on an Apache web server.
- Implement application updates, resolve bugs, and drive improvements.
- Ensure the application adheres to security and compliance standards.
- Enhance application performance and scalability.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Enforce and maintain network and server security protocols.
- Monitor system logs and promptly respond to alerts and incidents.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
