Requirements
Must:
- Over 9 years of practical experience in Ab Initio development and ETL design
- At least 1 year of experience with Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
- Proven expertise in large-scale data ingestion, ETL/ELT design, and distributed systems
- Familiarity with the Cloudera ecosystem (Hadoop, Hive, HDFS, Spark, Impala, etc.) and 3+ years of Hadoop Data Warehouse support
- Solid grasp of AWS services and concepts related to cloud migration
- Experience with at least one project implementing Ab Initio Change Data Capture (CDC) in a data integration or ETL environment
- Strong proficiency in SQL with the capability to craft optimized queries
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices, particularly with Jenkins / DevOps being a significant advantage
- Comprehensive understanding of OLTP and OLAP data models along with data warehouse fundamentals
- Dedication to high standards of code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices, capable of writing reusable components
- Ability to conduct thorough unit testing and resolve production issues
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux shell scripting
- Proven ability to work autonomously and mentor junior developers
- Some experience with Java development is advantageous
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Ab Initio Certification or other relevant ETL/data engineering certifications are mandatory
Responsibilities
- Design and develop ETL processes using Ab Initio, ensuring optimal performance and quality
- Collaborate with team members to analyze data ingestion and processing requirements
- Implement solutions that facilitate the migration of data to AWS
- Optimize and maintain existing ETL pipelines, ensuring reliability and efficiency
- Participate in code reviews and promote coding best practices across the team
- Support and mentor junior developers, fostering knowledge sharing and growth
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Engage in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives
