Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support within an enterprise setting.
- Recent certifications or education equivalent to CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar.
- Proficient in Windows OS, Apple iOS, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiar with common IT devices such as network switches, routers, printers, and wireless access points.
- Understanding of key IT concepts like DNS, POE, DHCP, IP Subnets, Ping, Traceroute, and FTP.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle on-site.
- Capability to climb ladders to access IT equipment.
- Must be able to lift items up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations or weekend shifts as necessary.
- Eligibility to obtain a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
Responsibilities
- Provide level 1-2 help desk support addressing end-user software and hardware issues, including password resets, email assistance, Office applications, printers, and Wi-Fi concerns.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain various IT systems specific to our operational environment, including network-connected gate systems, vehicles, and OCR systems.
- Collaborate with remote networking and systems teams on the physical maintenance and troubleshooting of network equipment and servers.
- Repair or replace defective IT equipment in both indoor and outdoor settings across multiple buildings and network enclosures.
- Assist with the upkeep of technical documentation and procedural guidelines.
- Track and manage local IT inventories and assets.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Description
We are excited to invite applications for the role of IT Support Technician to deliver on-site IT assistance for end-users and various IT systems at a shipping terminal location in the Port of Tacoma, WA. In this position, you will gain the chance to engage with unique industry-specific technologies not commonly found in typical office environments. We value team players who are enthusiastic problem solvers with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining smooth IT operations. We offer a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $80,000 annually, as well as benefits including a 401(k), dental and health insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance. This is a full-time, in-person role.
