Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 12 years of relevant experience
- Graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience
- In lieu of a degree, at least 16 years of relevant experience
- Over 5 years of experience in developing software using RUST for production systems with a comprehensive understanding of the language
- Proficient in C/C++ development and object-oriented design principles
- U.S. citizenship with an Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Support engineering team members in the development of embedded software applications primarily using RUST
- Drive the adoption and execution of RUST programming practices, patterns, and tooling across various product lines
- Utilize principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop software for specific hardware
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to design and assess interfaces between hardware and software, as well as operational performance requirements for the overall system
- Engage in all phases of the software development life cycle, encompassing requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal testing
- Investigate and resolve complex issues, working either independently or within a multidisciplinary team
- Create software test plans and relevant technical documentation
- Use modeling tools and equipment to collect operational data, conduct experimental tests, prototype, and analyze results
- Participate in peer review sessions, track, identify, and correct defects
- Apply a variety of programming languages (primarily RUST, C/C++, and Python) for embedded real-time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, Integrity)
- Act as a technical mentor and reviewer for junior engineers
- Travel over 30% to other company locations for onboarding, integration, or scrum activities
