Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience
- Graduate degree with at least 10 years of pertinent experience
- In lieu of a degree, at least 16 years of corresponding experience
- Over 5 years of experience in developing RUST software for production environments with a profound understanding of the language
- Familiarity with C/C++ development and object-oriented design principles
- U.S. citizenship with an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Assist engineering team members in developing embedded software applications specifically using RUST
- Spearhead the adoption and application of RUST, along with relevant techniques, idioms, design patterns, and tools across various product lines
- Employ concepts from computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop software tailored for target hardware
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to create and assess interfaces between hardware and software, including operational performance requirements and overall system design
- Engage in all stages of the software development life cycle, from requirements analysis to design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal testing
- Investigate the root causes of complex issues and devise solutions either independently or in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Create software test plans, procedures, and other essential technical documents
- Utilize modeling tools and equipment to gather operating data, perform experimental tests, prototype, and assess results
- Participate in peer reviews, and identify, track, and rectify defects
- Use various software languages, primarily RUST, C/C++, and Python, to develop code for embedded real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Linux, and Integrity
- Act as a technical mentor and reviewer for junior engineers
- Travel over 30% of the time to another company location for onboarding, integration, or scrum activities
