Requirements
Must:
- A terminal degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Game Design and Development, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, with qualifications for tenure as a Professor in our Department
- Proven commitment to the Computing disciplines and a strong record of scholarship and research leading to external funding
- Evidence of effective leadership capabilities
- Excellent communication and relational skills
- Ability to collaborate productively with faculty and students
- Experience in mentoring and advising both early career faculty and students in research
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary and effective leadership to the Department of Software Engineering and Game Development
- Enhance the departments reputation and visibility at the local and national level
- Foster academic excellence and a robust research environment, along with securing external funding
- Mentor faculty and students to elevate research endeavors and academic success
- Oversee the efficient delivery of courses across the college
- Enhance student retention and success, particularly in the First Year Experience Program
- Strategically manage enrollment growth and program evolution in Software Engineering and Game Development
- Improve curriculum design, retention rates, and graduation outcomes for Software Engineering and Game Design programs
- Advocate for departmental faculty and initiatives, ensuring their objectives and requirements are clearly communicated
