Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors, MS, or PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Strong foundation in bioinformatics and biostatistics, specifically in analyzing next-generation sequencing data.
- Experience with machine learning/AI tools and an interest in protein design is preferred.
- Proficiency in a UNIX/Linux environment.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, Matlab, or Perl.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with fluency in both spoken and written English.
- Knowledge of techniques for analyzing tumor purity and clonal heterogeneity.
- Background in oncology and/or immunology is a plus.
- Familiarity with Monte Carlo-based statistical methods.
- Understanding of cancer biology.
- Skills in predictive modeling and machine learning software.
Responsibilities
- Collect, manage, and sanitize datasets.
- Utilize existing and innovative tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize complex relationships in data, as well as for protein design.
- Develop databases and reports, create algorithms and statistical models, and conduct statistical analyses aligned with data and reporting requirements.
- Identify and rectify potentially problematic data through system reports and analyses, determining root causes of data issues and proposing solutions.
- Generate reports, charts, graphs, and tables for use by investigators and for dissemination in publications and presentations.
- Analyze documentation related to data processes.
- Collaborate with faculty and research staff on strategies for data collection and analysis.
- Provide documentation based on audit and reporting criteria to investigators and research colleagues.
- Communicate effectively with government officials, grant agencies, and industry representatives.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Description
We are the Kalbasi Lab at Stanford University School of Medicine, situated in a vibrant research setting. We focus on the intersection of cancer and the immune system, striving to enhance cancer immunotherapy and radiation therapy. Our lab explores T cell therapies and cytokine therapies, with a focus on sarcoma, melanoma, and other solid tumors. We are seeking a Bioinformatician/Research Data Analyst 1 to analyze high-throughput sequencing data from laboratory experiments and clinical trials, while also participating in novel protein design strategies using advanced AI tools.
