Requirements
Must:
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture and routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
- Proficient with Cisco networking hardware such as routers, switches, and ASA firewalls; experience with Meraki devices and familiarity with Juniper systems is a bonus
- Strong grasp of network security frameworks including Cisco ISE, PKI, SSL/TLS encryption standards, and VPN setup (IPsec & SSL)
- Practical experience with virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere; knowledgeable in SAN/NFS storage solutions and high availability designs
- Experienced with operating systems including Windows Server and various Linux distributions such as Debian, CentOS, and Ubuntu; familiarity with BSD variants is advantageous
- Programming/scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation; knowledgeable in APIs for system integration
- Familiar with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and understanding of cloud security practices along with DevOps principles for CI/CD
- Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments using tools such as Splunk or SolarWinds; experience with network monitoring tools like PRTG
- Knowledgeable in telecommunication systems with a focus on VoIP technologies and general IT infrastructure support
- Excellent problem-solving abilities coupled with strong communication skills; comfortable working independently in the field while effectively collaborating with teams
Responsibilities
- Lead the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of VoIP systems, ensuring top call quality and system reliability
- Manage and support WAN and LAN infrastructures utilizing Cisco routers, switches, Meraki devices, and Juniper equipment
- Implement and maintain network security measures including Cisco ISE, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems for threat management
- Conduct thorough network assessments, vulnerability scans, and regular system audits to maintain security standards such as PKI and cloud security protocols
- Support data center operations by overseeing SAN environments, VMware vSphere configurations, load balancing solutions, and server virtualization technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams employing Agile methodologies to enhance SDLC processes for network projects, utilizing scripting languages for automation tasks
- Provide on-site technical assistance for network installation projects including fiber optic cabling, Ethernet setups, and software deployment
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and PRTG; troubleshoot routing protocol issues and network management platforms
