Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of experience with HSM and key management tools such as Thales payShield, SafeNet HSM, Azure Key Vault (AKV), and AWS KMS.
- Expertise in key life cycle management and policy enforcement across multiple environments.
- Proven track record in security design and maintaining vendor security applications related to cryptographic functions.
- In-depth experience with Windows/Linux platforms, specifically on OpenShift and other Ansible solutions.
- Proficient in RESTful services and cloud-native applications.
- Knowledge of PKCS, JCE, .NET, MCCAPI, and MS CNG.
- Familiarity with scalable systems utilizing Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other container orchestration technologies.
- Ability to implement REST API tools like Postman or Insomnia.
- Experienced in full-stack monitoring with logging solutions like Splunk and SNMP v3.0.
- Background in data security platform engineering.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Kanban.
- Skills in configuration, patch management, and life cycle management of cryptographic devices.
- Experience strategizing cloud migration and deploying cloud HSM and KMS solutions across platforms such as AKV, AWS, and GCP.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain vendor security applications primarily focused on cryptocurrency and security functionalities.
- Collaborate with the Global Information Security (GIS) team to understand business requirements and evaluate the technical feasibility of solutions in the cryptocurrency domain.
- Enhance and maintain hosted cryptographic solutions, including key management and HSMs, ensuring compliance with banking and industry standards.
- Develop prototypes for system designs and partner with database, operations, and technical support teams throughout the proof of concept and implementation phases.
- Serve as a senior technical resource, providing expertise to team members.
- Manage and administer cryptographic keys, encompassing comprehensive key life cycle management with rigorous access controls as per security standards and policy guidelines.

We are a client of Innova Solutions actively seeking an HSM Security Engineer for a contract role lasting between 12 to 18 months. This position is based on-site and available in Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; or Washington, DC. We offer a competitive pay rate ranging from $71 to $76 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
