Requirements
Must:
- I require a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; however, an additional four (4) years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- You should have at least eight (8) years of relevant experience.
- Experience with IBM ALC programming language in a Z/OS environment is essential.
- Proficiency in IBM Job Control Language (JCL) is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Proven track record in client support is a must.
- I expect candidates to interact effectively with all levels of management.
- The ability to perform intricate tasks with minimal supervision and direction is crucial.
- Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational abilities are important.
- You should be able to work well independently or as part of a team.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with TSO, File Manager, ISPF, Endevor, and IBM utilities, including De-Bug, as well as experience with IRS Corporate Systems.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for creating, updating, testing, and maintaining IBM ALC programs.
- Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to ensure they generate the desired results and that instructions are accurate.
- Write, update, and maintain programs or software packages to manage specific tasks, such as inventory tracking, data storage/retrieval, or controlling equipment.
- Analyze, review, and modify programs using workflow charts and diagrams while applying your knowledge of computing capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.
- Perform or oversee the revision, repair, or enhancement of existing programs to increase operational efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
- Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify issues, and propose changes.
- Carry out systems analysis and programming tasks necessary to maintain and manage the use of computer systems software as a system programmer.
- Document the development and subsequent revisions of programs, adding comments to software application code for clarity.
- Prepare and maintain detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operations, converting them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language.
- Collaborate with Computer Systems Analysts (CSAs) to identify and resolve issues in running computer programs.
Description
- Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for at least three years and be compliant with Federal tax regulations. - You must meet the criteria to obtain and maintain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance; having an active Moderate Risk MBI clearance is advantageous. - This is a full-time contract position with a pay rate starting from $70.00 per hour. - Benefits include dental insurance, health insurance, health savings account, life insurance, paid time off, retirement plan, and vision insurance. - The position is remote. - Application Question: Do you currently hold an active IRS Moderate Risk MBI clearance?
