Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience in SQL Server administration
- Proficient in query tuning, indexing, and enhancing performance
- Knowledge of database maintenance including DBCC checks and index rebuilds
- Skilled in backup/restore processes and high availability/disaster recovery strategies
- Familiarity with SQL Security and Role-Based Access Control
- Understanding of SQL Agent jobs and ETL scheduling
- Experience with API integrations and batch imports
- Ability to resolve sync issues between systems
- Experience managing large, transactional databases, particularly in retail or hospitality
- Capability to grasp the interrelations of Hospitality, Retail, and Multi-Property Operations contexts
- Retail-specific technical knowledge such as inventory adjustments and SKU structures is a plus
- Ability to analyze POS data structures
- Prior experience with inventory systems or retail ERP is advantageous, Yellow Dog experience preferred but not mandatory
Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize SQL Server databases to ensure high performance
- Conduct query tuning and indexing for improved database efficiency
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks including DBCC checks and index rebuilds
- Implement backup and restore strategies alongside high availability measures
- Manage SQL security protocols and role-based access control
- Oversee SQL Agent jobs and the scheduling of ETL processes
- Facilitate integration with API feeds and manage file-based data imports
- Troubleshoot and resolve synchronization issues between different systems
- Work with large transactional databases, focusing on retail and hospitality operations
- Analyze and correlate data to support multi-property operational needs
- Utilize retail-specific knowledge to assist in inventory management and purchasing processes
