Requirements
Must:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Managed Service Providers (MSP)
- Background as a senior escalation engineer within an MSP environment
- Proven expertise in both service delivery and project management
- Familiarity with ConnectWise Manage PSA is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel to client locations as necessary
- Capability to lift up to 35 lbs for on-site technical tasks
- Availability for rotating after-hours on-call support
- Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory
- Knowledge of Windows Server environments
- Experience with networking and firewalls
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies including VMware and Hyper-V
- Proficiency in PowerShell or automation tools
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks like NIST or CIS
- Skills in advanced firewalls and security stacks
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Consulting history across diverse industries
Certifications:
- At least three active industry-recognized IT certifications
- Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104 or MS-700
- CompTIA certifications such as Network+ or Security+
- Equivalent industry-recognized certifications
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary escalation point for intricate technical challenges affecting client environments
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to servers, networks, cloud services, and security
- Mentor and support fellow engineers through advanced technical hurdles
- Ensure effective, timely, and professional handling of escalations
- Engage in security incident response, remediation efforts, and strengthening of environments
- Work collaboratively with security tools and MDR platforms to investigate and tackle escalated security incidents
- Address senior-level incoming support tickets while managing project responsibilities
- Balance immediate support needs with proactive solution development
- Uphold high standards for service quality, SLAs, and client satisfaction
- Lead and implement sophisticated infrastructure projects including server upgrades, cloud transitions, network redesigns, and security enhancements
- Collaborate on technical designs, implementation strategies, and execution planning
- Conduct server, workstation, and network deployment and replacement tasks
- Participate in technical project scoping and post-review evaluations
- Conduct in-person client visits for escalations, project rollouts, and scheduled technical tasks
- Act as a reliable technical advisor during critical or sensitive situations
- Clearly communicate technical findings, suggestions, and next steps to clients
- Ensure all documentation is precise, thorough, and current within the PSA system
- Contribute to the development of internal standards, technical workflows, and best practices
- Identify recurring challenges and propose long-term solutions
