Requirements
Must:
- I have 4-6 years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, or similar infrastructure roles.
- I hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- I possess strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and subnetting.
- I have experience with Azure networking (VNets, VPN Gateway, NSGs) or a strong willingness to learn cloud networking.
- I am skilled in firewall configuration and management, including experience with enterprise firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, pfSense).
- I am knowledgeable about WAN connectivity technologies (site-to-site VPN, SD-WAN concepts).
- I have a good understanding of network troubleshooting methodologies (packet capture, traceroute, systematic diagnosis).
- I have experience with Windows and Linux systems administration, sufficient to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.
- I am familiar with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Azure Network Watcher, or similar).
Responsibilities
- I will take responsibility for network connectivity between our Connecticut office, Austin, and Azure, ensuring effective VPN/site-to-site connections, routing, and firewall rules.
- I will design and implement Azure network architecture, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, and private endpoints.
- I will monitor and enhance network performance for trading applications.
- I will troubleshoot connectivity issues across the entire stack, including office LAN, WAN, and Azure services.
- I will collaborate with the Platform Manager on Azure networking strategy and hybrid infrastructure design.
- I will manage the network infrastructure at the Connecticut office, handling switches, routers, wireless, and firewalls.
- I will implement and maintain network monitoring and alerts.
- I will configure and manage DNS, VPN access, and security policies.
- I will document network architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting processes.
- I will provide on-site technical support for Connecticut traders during market hours and triage issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity.
- I will administer local systems, including workstations, office infrastructure, and conference room technology.
- I will coordinate with the Austin team for user provisioning, M365 administration, and device management.
- I will act as the Connecticut site liaison for planned infrastructure changes and maintenance windows.
- I will respond to urgent technical problems affecting trading operations.
- I will work 100% remotely until our Stamford, CT office is operational, after which I'll be onsite as needed, maintaining a hybrid work setting.

As the first Technology team member onsite in Connecticut, I will collaborate closely with traders and our broader Technology team spanning Development, IT & Infrastructure, Architecture, and Business Solutions both in the US and EU. I am a self-sufficient problem solver, comfortable being the primary tech person on-site. I have a systematic, curious, and persistent mindset, alongside excellent communication skills that allow me to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical traders. I can seamlessly switch between project work and urgent support requests while remaining focused on execution. I maintain a professional demeanor and respond promptly during market hours, as traders rely heavily on my support. I am a team player who collaborates effectively with remote colleagues.
