Requirements
Must:
- Completion of two years of college education in computer science or related field
- Minimum of four years of experience in technical systems, programming, or IT project management
- Extensive knowledge of system design and implementation
- Proficient in oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Awareness of security, privacy, and ethical standards
- Familiarity with data capturing devices and communication methods
- Knowledgeable in computer system documentation principles
- Understanding of the advantages and limitations of computer communication systems
- Ability to organize and present data clearly
- Proficient in using appropriate tools and processes for work
- Willingness to travel
- Valid Illinois drivers license required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the IBM z/VM operating environments
- Install, configure, and perform upgrades on z/VM systems
- Monitor and manage system resources including CPU, memory, and I/O
- Administer virtual machine definitions and user access
- Oversee z/VM shared resources and performance documentation
- Implement and enforce security access policies
- Configure secure networking protocols
- Ensure adherence to compliance frameworks
- Participate in Disaster Recovery testing and planning
- Develop recovery runbooks and operational procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance and system issues
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on upgrades and migrations
- Provide documentation and training for junior staff
- Complete other duties as assigned

We seek an Information Systems Advisor I to maintain our mission-critical IBM mainframe virtualization infrastructure.
