Requirements
Must:
- Completion of two years of college in computer science or a related field
- Four years of experience with technical systems, programming, or IT project management
- Extensive knowledge of systems design and implementation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Understanding of organizational security, privacy, and ethical standards
- Familiarity with computer data capture devices and methodologies
- Proficiency in computer system documentation practices
- Knowledge of computer communication systems and information retrieval
- Ability to analyze data logically and present findings clearly
- Willingness to travel and possess a valid Illinois drivers license
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain IBM mainframe VTS tape and SAN infrastructure
- Monitor performance, availability, and utilization of DASD and VTS storage
- Analyze storage usage trends and suggest future requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve storage performance issues
- Implement and oversee daily data backups and disaster recovery processes
- Respond to major incidents and conduct root cause analyses
- Collaborate with vendors on installations, upgrades, and support issues
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members
- Allocate storage, configure solutions, and implement system changes
- Participate in Disaster Recovery testing and planning
- Develop and maintain storage recovery documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve storage and replication system issues
- Work with vendors and internal teams for upgrades and migrations
- Provide documentation and training to junior staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
