Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline (Masters degree preferred).
- 14-20+ years of progressively responsible experience in software development.
- Proven track record leading architecture in multiple intricate, mission-critical systems.
- Extensive knowledge of C/C++ programming languages.
- Expertise in Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Experience in device driver development.
- Familiarity with embedded microcontroller architectures.
- Strong background in developing applications for Windows and Linux environments.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing cybersecurity measures within regulated settings.
- Knowledge of networking stacks, high-speed data interfaces, and secure communication protocols.
- Proficiency in modern web technologies such as Node.js, React, and TypeScript for interface and tooling solutions.
- Established ability to guide a product from concept to production and maintenance with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
- Provide architectural direction and technical leadership for numerous concurrent programs.
- Define and manage system-level software architecture across diverse initiatives.
- Establish frameworks for embedded, real-time, and networked systems.
- Conduct design reviews and serve as the technical signatory for software architecture decisions.
- Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions that meet operational constraints for airborne and ground-support systems.
- Define coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, and verification strategies in line with industry best practices.
- Coordinate software development efforts across multiple product lines.
- Drive technical roadmaps that align with business strategies and client needs.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies, including cybersecurity frameworks and networking protocols.
- Provide insights on costs, schedules, and risks during proposal phases.
- Collaborate with systems, electrical, FPGA, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure cohesive designs.
- Translate high-level system requirements into detailed software architectures and execution plans.
- Oversee integration, validation, and verification procedures for airborne-qualified systems.
- Ensure adherence to MIL-STD, cybersecurity, and environmental standards.
- Design secure systems compliant with various cybersecurity frameworks.
- Guide efforts to mitigate vulnerabilities, such as through static/dynamic analysis.
- Sustain a strong cybersecurity posture throughout the product lifecycle.
- Mentor mid-level and senior engineers, enhancing their technical capabilities.
- Conduct peer design and code reviews, promoting best practices in engineering processes.
- Serve as an escalation point for intricate technical issues.
- Present technical strategies and risk assessments to senior management.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding technical matters, including development progress and risk management plans.
