Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Masters preferred)
- 14-20+ years of extensive engineering experience in airborne or aerospace systems
- Proven leadership in managing multiple complex airborne programs from initial concept through qualification and production
- Expertise in airborne data transfer and storage systems
- Comprehensive understanding of the complete systems engineering lifecycle
- Experience with cybersecurity and encryption standards
- Demonstrated ability in leading cross-functional engineering teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- U.S. Citizen eligible for obtaining and maintaining DoD Secret Clearance (ITAR-compliant)
- Familiarity with fighter aircraft integration environments (preferred)
- Experience with mission data systems and secure cartridge architectures (preferred)
- Background in ruggedized, high-reliability electronics (preferred)
- Experience interfacing with airframe OEMs and DoD program offices (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Own the system-level architecture for various airborne product lines
- Define scalable airborne data transfer and storage architectures, including audio/video recorders and secure cartridges
- Lead architectural trade studies while balancing considerations such as SWaP-C, environmental constraints, cybersecurity, and platform integration requirements
- Serve as the technical signatory for various reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and qualification readiness reviews
- Provide comprehensive systems engineering leadership across concurrent complex airborne programs
- Drive the decomposition, allocation, and traceability of requirements
- Oversee planning for verification and validation as well as certification strategies
- Ensure adherence to applicable military and aerospace standards
- Define the approach for airborne qualification including environmental and power standards
- Lead the compliance strategy for various standards and requirements
- Anticipate and mitigate technical risks to avoid redesign cycles
- Act as the technical interface for both domestic and international clients
- Shape technical solutions during pursuit and capture efforts
- Develop superior technical proposals and documentation
- Present architectural strategies and risk postures to stakeholders
- Collaborate with leadership to set long-term airborne product strategies
- Identify technology gaps and recommend investment opportunities
- Influence decisions regarding manufacturing capabilities and supply chain strategies
- Align engineering efforts with business growth targets
- Mentor engineers across various disciplines
- Establish design standards and best practices in engineering
- Facilitate cross-functional design reviews
- Act as the escalation authority for complex technical issues
