Requirements
Must:
- Experience with LIMS Platforms (e.g., Clinisys, STARLIMS, LabWare)
- Over 8 years of experience in requirements gathering and documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories)
- More than 8 years of experience in stakeholder management and communication
- At least 8 years of experience in process mapping (BPMN, flowcharts)
- 8+ years of experience in gap analysis and solution design
- Over 8 years of experience in data migration and system implementation
- More than 8 years of experience in developing training plans and materials
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps
- Understanding of system integrations (APIs, HL7, ETL processes) and data concepts
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database concepts
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related laboratory science (such as Biology or Chemistry)
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from lab stakeholders including scientists, technicians, QA/QC, and management
- Convert laboratory workflows into system specifications and user stories
- Perform gap analysis between current practices and system functionalities
- Aid in the implementation, configuration, and enhancement of LIMS and associated systems
- Collaborate with vendors and IT teams on system upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting
- Participate in validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) as necessary
- Evaluate lab workflows (sample tracking, testing, reporting) to pinpoint inefficiencies
- Propose automation and digital solutions
- Standardize processes across laboratories or departments
- Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), user manuals, and system documentation
- Serve as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical lab personnel
- Lead workshops, training sessions, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Provide continuous user support and training
- Gain insight into laboratory workflows including sample lifecycle (login, testing, reporting), instrument integration, and quality control processes

We are currently seeking a talented System Analyst to join our team in Lansing, MI. This role is vital for executing the implementation of new Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ensuring ongoing maintenance of critical lab applications that support public health initiatives. The position requires local candidates due to our hybrid work model, with required onsite presence on Wednesdays and Thursdays and the possibility to work remotely on other days.
