Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5+ years of systems engineering experience, preferably within the DoD industry (experience with communications systems is highly preferred)
- Familiarity with DoD space missions and programs
- Experience with all phases of the standard systems engineering lifecycle
- Proficient in utilizing MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo, Innoslate) for developing system models, supporting architecture design, and managing requirements
- Strong grasp of system architecture principles for both space and ground systems, with ability to design scalable and reliable solutions
- Expertise in gathering, analyzing, and defining system requirements, ensuring traceability from concept through validation
- Knowledgeable in system integration practices and testing methodologies, including defining interfaces, creating test plans, and ensuring system verification and validation
- Capable of identifying, assessing, and managing technical risks, developing mitigation strategies for challenges in space and ground system development
- Possess strong organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Ensure customer technical success by managing engineering execution and compliance with requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and analyze system requirements, aligning them with space and ground system objectives
- Develop and maintain system models using MBSE tools to facilitate effective communication across teams
- Support the creation of scalable and reliable system architectures that meet program requirements
- Create integration plans for space and ground systems to ensure cohesive subsystem functionality
- Assist in developing test plans and procedures, conducting verification activities to ensure performance and quality standards
- Identify, assess, and manage system risks, implementing mitigation strategies
- Define and manage interfaces between subsystems to ensure data flow and compatibility
- Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications and test reports, ensuring accurate system definition and traceability
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure effective integration of components
- Provide technical insights and updates to program management, addressing any issues or roadblocks
