Requirements
Must:
- Strong grasp of fundamental networking principles and the OSI model.
- Hands-on experience with dynamic routing protocols like OSPF and BGP.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches in practical settings.
- Capability to analyze packet flow and protocol actions to determine underlying issues.
- Effective communication skills with a knack for documentation.
- Self-driven, meticulous, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to thrive in a small company where taking initiative and ownership is essential.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and sustain the ICS production network to guarantee stability and uptime.
- Set up, implement, and validate new services and network installations.
- Diagnose routing, switching, and connectivity problems within a multi-vendor environment.
- Engage in an escalated on-call rotation to address outages and issues impacting customers.
- Record network configurations, standards, and processes to facilitate repeatability and support from others.
- Assist in testing new hardware, software, and design methods to enhance ICS services.
- Collaborate with upstream providers and peers, including managing eBGP sessions and routing policies.
- Offer remote assistance to internal teams, contractors, and vendors as required.
