Requirements
Must:
- 5–10+ years of IT experience, preferably in a managed service provider (MSP) setting
- Proven track record in managing complex infrastructure environments
- Strong expertise in VMware or Hyper-V
- Solid foundation in storage, networking, and security principles
- Experience with incident response and recovery processes
- Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a predominantly remote environment
- Familiarity with IGEL endpoints or secure workspace settings is a plus
- Microsoft certifications are advantageous
- Background in healthcare or multi-tenant MSP environments is desirable
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary escalation point for intricate technical challenges
- Engage in an on-call rotation, though may not always be the primary responder
- Design, establish, maintain, and recover customer environments
- Administer Microsoft 365 at an advanced level
- Handle Azure and Azure Virtual Desktop configuration and support
- Manage VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V
- Oversee SAN and storage systems, including implementation and upkeep
- Address networking issues, firewalls, VPNs, and routing
- Respond to incidents, particularly those involving ransomware, while facilitating recovery
- Maintain documentation, standardization efforts, and up-to-date runbooks
- Travel occasionally for on-site builds or urgent incidents
- Develop, test, and implement business continuity and disaster recovery (BCP/DR) plans
- Conduct backup validations and restore tests for various systems
- Execute system restores during actual incidents and ensure compliance with audit-ready documentation
