Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in hotel or related fields is essential.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year progressive experience in hospitality or a similar domain.
- Helpful: Completion of trade school or college coursework in a related discipline.
- Flexibility in working hours, including extended shifts when necessary.
- Ability to exert force regularly; lifting objects exceeding 100 pounds occasionally, and 50 pounds frequently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, engaging with all employees and guests in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Proficient in listening to and addressing concerns raised by guests and staff.
- Capability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines.
- Attentive and courteous engagement with guests and colleagues at all times.
- Commitment to attending all required meetings and training sessions.
- Regular attendance aligned with Highgate Hotel Standards, adapting to the needs of the hotel.
- Adherence to grooming and appearance standards including proper uniform and nametag.
- Compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations for safety and efficient operations.
- Focus on productivity and problem-solving, identifying areas for improvement and assisting in solutions.
- Proficient in identifying and resolving operational challenges proactively.
- Ability to comprehend and utilize complex information to fulfill objectives.
- Willingness to be cross-trained in other hotel departments as needed.
- Maintenance of confidentiality for all sensitive information.
- Initiative in anticipating needs of guests and operations.
- Flexibility to perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs on hotel air conditioning systems, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and motor replacements.
- Execute preventive maintenance on all types of equipment, such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Document necessary equipment readings and assess their functionality.
- Test and record readings for cooling towers.
- Install and configure televisions as required.
- Replace light switches, outlets, bulbs, and fixtures as needed.
- Undertake furniture repairs to ensure quality maintenance.
- Repair and replace pumps as necessary.
- Carry out plumbing repairs, addressing issues like clogged drains and leaky pipes.
- Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Identify and fix issues with water lines, tracing any leaks.
- Troubleshoot and repair kitchen appliances as needed.
- Maintain thorough records of repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations during all maintenance work.
- Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas to ensure they meet operational standards.
- Paint designated areas as required.
- Repair and finish sheetrock as needed for maintenance of interior spaces.
- Restore various types of wall coverings as necessary.
- Repair and program the hotelโs electronic lock systems for functionality.
