Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cybersecurity
- Familiarity with common attack vectors, such as DDoS attacks, Phishing, web & application attacks, and malware
- Knowledge of critical network protocols and layer 7 technologies, including SMTP, HTTP, HTTP/S, SSL/TLS, DNS, FTP, SSH, etc.
- Experience with SIEM platforms and various cybersecurity technologies, such as EDR, AV, IDS/IPS, and WAFs
- Understanding of advanced persistent threats and their tactics, techniques, and procedures
- Familiarity with the incident response Kill Chain
- Basic understanding of Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux operating systems
- Fundamental knowledge of the OSI model, basic networking, and troubleshooting concepts
- Experience in programming or scripting, including PowerShell, Bash, Python, Yara, and Perl
- Intermediate knowledge of incident response frameworks and handling procedures
- Understanding of various log formats from different network and computer devices
- Awareness of cybersecurity risks and threats related to cyber attackers
- Knowledge of recent cybersecurity events, including interpreting the kill chain process and threat impacts
- Strong presentation, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%)
- Availability for Third Shift Hours: Thursday - 1am-7:30am, Thursday - Saturday - 7pm-7:30am
Responsibilities
- Engage in daily security operations monitoring and response activities from the Cybersecurity Operations Center
- Conduct malware analysis, reverse engineering, and de-obfuscation processes
- Assess, respond to, and mitigate alerts generated by the SIEM and the cybersecurity product suite (e.g., NGFWs, IDS/IPS, Anti-virus, Web Application Firewalls, NAC Solution, etc.)
- Implement or suggest mitigations, including the creation and development of new alerts and rules within various cybersecurity tools
- Analyze and identify malicious activities at different stages of attacks
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge regarding Cyber Security defense-in-depth technology and industry best practices through ongoing research and engagement
- Collaborate with Cyber Security Engineering and IT Operations teams
- Perform additional duties as required
