Responsibilities
In the role of Tier 1 (T1) Security Operations Center (SOC) analyst, you will engage in several key functions. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- 24/7 Monitoring: You will continuously observe security events across customer networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud workloads using our centralized tools. This will enable you to identify anomalies or signs of attacks in real-time.
- Analysis & Triage: You will investigate alerts and logs to assess their validity and seriousness. Distinguishing between false positives and genuine incidents, you will leverage our platforms to perform this task.
- Documentation: You will record your analysis steps, findings, and decisions in our ticketing system, ensuring clear incident logs and timelines for each event.
- Escalation: You will adhere to established procedures to escalate confirmed or high-risk incidents to incident responders or client contacts.

This position is based in person, and we are only considering candidates who live in or near Bozeman, MT. Working as a Tier 1 analyst at Hoplite provides valuable entry-level experience in the cybersecurity field, and we encourage you to apply if you find this opportunity appealing! While previous experience is not mandatory, having a background in the following areas would facilitate your training: - Computer Science - Computer Engineering - Networking - SIEM and SOAR platforms - Customer Service/Support Hoplite's SOC is operational 24/7, 365 days a year, so working during overnight hours and on holidays may be occasionally required. The available shifts are from 7 AM to 3 PM, 3 PM to 11 PM, or 11 PM to 7 AM.
