Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field preferred - Minimum of 3 years of healthcare IT/EHR experience, including template or form creation - Preferred 3 years of hands-on NextGen EHR system administration experience - Strong understanding of EHR security models, user access provisioning, and audit logging - Experience with system upgrades, patches, and vendor coordination - Familiarity with SQL, interfaces, HL7, and system integrations is a plus - Understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and documentation compliance requirements - Strong communication abilities with a knack for translating technical concepts

Responsibilities

- Serve as the primary administrator for the NextGen EHR environment, which includes Production, Test, and Training instances - Configure, maintain, and oversee NextGen system settings and environment parameters - Manage user roles, permissions, and security groups following least-privilege and compliance standards - Administer interfaces, integrations, and data feeds between NextGen and external systems - Coordinate upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and version releases for NextGen, ensuring thorough pre- and post-upgrade validation - Monitor system performance, job queues, audits, and logs to maintain stability and availability - Execute system troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution in collaboration with NextGen vendor support - Facilitate implementation activities such as environment setup, data conversion validation, testing, and ensuring go-live readiness - Develop and sustain system administration documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures - Collaborate with clinical, operational, billing, Healthcare Software, and IT teams for workflow optimization and system improvements - Ensure system configurations comply with organizational policies, regulations, and industry best practices - Assist with business continuity, disaster recovery testing, and system downtime protocols for NextGen - Maintain audit trails, access reviews, and security measures to uphold HIPAA and HITECH compliance - Support system testing, validation, and quality assurance processes - Track and manage system-related incidents, service requests, and enhancement tickets - Proactively identify risks, performance challenges, and opportunities for system enhancements - Assist in reporting infrastructure, background jobs, and system dependencies - Coordinate with database administrators, infrastructure teams, and hosting vendors as necessary - Participate in on-call or after-hours support for system maintenance, upgrades, or urgent incidents as required - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to application analysts and support personnel - Perform other duties as assigned
