Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field required.
- Minimum one year of progressively responsible experience in a hotel or similar field preferred.
- Trade school or college coursework in a related field is beneficial.
- Flexibility in working hours, including long shifts when necessary.
- Ability to exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds often.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication with employees and guests, maintaining a courteous and service-oriented demeanor.
- Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns raised by staff and guests.
- Capable of multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Attending all required hotel meetings and training sessions.
- Regular attendance in line with Highgate Hotel Standards, adapting to the hotels scheduling needs.
- High standards of personal appearance and grooming including proper uniform and nametag.
- Adherence to Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Initiative in identifying problems and assisting in solutions, while maximizing productivity.
- Effective problem-solving skills, including anticipation and prevention of potential issues.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex data from various sources to achieve objectives.
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel areas.
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Initiative to anticipate guest or operational needs.
- Willingness to perform additional duties as requested by management.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the property is maintained in optimal condition with minimal disruption to guests and staff.
- Repair hotel air conditioning systems including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment such as boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.
- Take necessary readings on technical equipment.
- Test and record measurements from the cooling tower.
- Replace and program televisions as required.
- Replace light switches, outlets, bulbs, and fixtures as needed.
- Carry out furniture repairs.
- Replace and fix pumps.
- Perform plumbing maintenance including handling clogs and changing fittings.
- Read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Trace and repair various water lines.
- Troubleshoot and fix kitchen appliances.
- Maintain records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and Federal codes in work performed.
- Clean and repair pools and spas.
- Paint specified areas as needed.
- Repair and finish drywall.
- Fix various wall coverings.
- Maintain and repair the hotels electronic lock system.
