Requirements

Must:
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field combined with 8 years of professional experience; alternatively, a Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience is acceptable. You should have a solid foundation as an experienced professional with a complete understanding of data modeling and its associated specializations, often working independently on a variety of complex issues. Essential skills include a thorough knowledge of data modeling concepts (conceptual, logical, physical) and enterprise data architecture, along with expertise in modern data modeling tools (such as ER/Studio, Erwin, UML, Microsoft Visio, and Lucid). Familiarity with cloud data platforms, especially Microsoft Azure and Databricks, along with experience in ERP and CRM systems, is necessary. An understanding of data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and master data management (MDM) strategies is also required. Strong communication skills are a must, allowing you to convey technical ideas to both business and technical audiences effectively.

Responsibilities

In the role of Data Modeler at Hologic, your primary duties will include designing, developing, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models that facilitate enterprise analytics and reporting. You will translate business needs into scalable and reusable data models that comply with data architecture principles and governance frameworks. You will create and maintain metadata, data definitions, lineage, and MDM structures to ensure clarity and consistency throughout the organization. Collaboration with stakeholders is key, as you will document and communicate data flows, relationships, and definitions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, you will support business intelligence (BI) and analytics initiatives by ensuring that data models enable effective reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics. It will also be vital to ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements, such as HIPAA and GDPR, across all data assets. You will contribute to continual improvement by advocating for best practices in data quality, governance, and modeling standards.
