Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Over 5 years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or similar technical roles
- Proficient hands-on experience with endpoint security, network security, and system hardening
- Strong understanding of SIEM architecture, log ingestion processes, normalization, and detection workflows
- Familiarity with enterprise security technologies such as Web Application Firewalls, secure web gateways/proxies, email security platforms, and encryption solutions
- Experience collaborating with Infrastructure, Cloud, IT, and SOC teams in a production context
- Acquainted with security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Leadership experience in security initiatives or cross-department engineering efforts
- In-depth knowledge of detection engineering and security telemetry
- Exceptional technical documentation and communication abilities
- Capability to identify control gaps, propose scalable solutions, and drive implementation
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of enterprise-level endpoint, network, and cloud security measures
- Oversee and enhance HireRights email security framework, focusing on phishing defenses, impersonation safeguards, secure setup, and email data loss prevention
- Provide security guidance to technology and business teams on secure integrations, data handling, and management of sensitive information
- Establish and uphold SIEM and log ingestion protocols, ensuring reliable, actionable telemetry for detection and response teams
- Develop configuration baselines and security hardening standards across various operating systems, servers, endpoints, and user platforms
- Mentor security engineers and contribute to the long-term maturity of security programs
- Create and upkeep clear documentation and audit-ready materials pertaining to security controls and configurations
- Collaborate with security leadership on strategic planning, prioritizing initiatives, and continuous enhancement efforts
