Requirements
Must:
- 10 years of demonstrated experience as a solution architect, including expertise in System Integration and Platform Integration
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong leadership qualities to effectively influence and drive project progress
- Extensive hands-on architecture experience in designing and implementing customer-facing applications
- Familiarity with current technology trends including APIs, Microsoft Cloud, .NET, Angular, SQL DB, Cosmos DB, and AI
- Practical experience with software development and system administration
- Proficient in Azure DevOps or similar ALM tools
- Solid understanding of strategic IT solutions and frameworks
- Significant experience in project management, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and cloud technologies
- Experience collaborating with vendor products, complex system solutions, and cross-functional teams
- Proven capabilities in designing and developing interfaces from internal systems to externally-facing applications
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Competence in making informed technology and business decisions
- In-depth knowledge of project management and software development methodologies and tools: Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, SDLC, DevOps, SaFE
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Commitment to fostering a customer-focused team culture with high work and ethical standards
- Dedication to ensuring a positive customer experience
- Knowledge of the utility or customer service sector is a plus, but not mandatory
Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate technical strategies, assessing potential risks, costs, and faults
- Provide recommendations on software technologies and solutions, considering various alternatives and analyzing data infrastructure issues
- Develop models, wireframes, and prototypes when needed
- Take ownership of application design and software development workflows
- Guide the delivery team through the architectural development process, collaborating with application development teams, architects, Business, and other project stakeholders
- Ensure that software applications are efficiently and effectively designed, developed, and tested
- Present design choices to executives, stakeholders, peers, and delivery teams
- Decompose architecture into actionable tasks for developers
- Anticipate future needs, ensuring the technical design is secure and scalable
- Research and implement innovative technologies, identifying those that align with organizational goals
- Create and maintain technical documentation, updating Microsoft DevOps and producing documents related to application architecture, design steps, integration processes, and testing procedures for each developed product
- Rapidly produce end-to-end solution models with an emphasis on non-functional requirements
- Provide education and training to staff on coding standards, design, and development best practices

At Highstep Technologies, we are seeking a skilled Solution Architect to join our IT delivery team in New York City. Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and excel in problem-solving, fostering relationships, and facilitating standard project operations. This hybrid role requires on-site presence in our office two days a week, offering the opportunity to design, develop, and implement functional enhancements that meet both business and regulatory requirements. We pride ourselves on maintaining high ethical standards and delivering a superior customer experience. Our competitive compensation package includes benefits such as a 401(k), health insurance, and paid time off. Engagement will last between 12 to 36 months, beginning April 1, 2026.
