Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in specialty vehicle manufacturing, RV engineering, heavy truck upfit, modular/mobile medical, or transit bus development.
- Strong knowledge of FMVSS standards and Buy America compliance.
- Proficiency in product development and platform standardization.
- Experience in cost and margin engineering.
- Leadership skills in managing engineering teams.
- Familiarity with engineering change order processes and revision control systems.
- Ability to create engineering KPIs for team performance assessments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Drive engineering design for diverse projects including transit buses, mobile medical units, and specialty commercial vehicles.
- Establish standardized build platforms to enhance efficiency in engineering processes.
- Produce repeatable product families to ensure margin protection.
- Maintain accuracy in BOM cost structures and work on material cost reductions.
- Collaborate closely with purchasing to standardize suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with FMVSS, Buy America, and ADA standards.
- Manage documentation for RFP submissions and maintain records for audits.
- Implement and optimize engineering process systems and integration with ERP software.
- Lead and mentor the mechanical, electrical, and CAD engineering teams.
- Foster collaboration across manufacturing and sales teams to enhance project outcomes.
