Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a System Security role
- Expertise in network security, endpoint protection, access management, encryption, and firewalls
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to detect security breaches and devise response strategies
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, risk management concepts, and industry-leading security standards and regulations
- Understanding of least privilege principles and the core components of security: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability
- Experience with NIST or CMMC compliance
- Capability to draft firewall policies
- Background with next-generation firewalls or smart firewalls
- Knowledge of network protocols and devices, including switches and access points
- Proficient with Microsoft server products such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Exchange
- Experience in Microsoft Office 365 environments; familiarity with hybrid environments is a plus
- Ability to identify fraudulent websites and emails and provide guidance to users
- Commitment to staying informed on the latest cybersecurity threats and practices to enhance security measures
- Familiarity with WatchGuard products is advantageous
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are a plus
- Experience with MSP or MSSP software stacks is favorable
- Capacity to perform effectively under pressure while demonstrating patience, flexibility, integrity, and professionalism
- Compliance with confidential and security regulations including, but not limited to, ITAR, EAR, NIST, and FAR/DFARS
- Potential involvement in supporting and troubleshooting emergency situations for administration and production operations
- Willingness to participate in continuous education courses offered by the company to remain current with advancements in database technologies and related fields
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing to uncover system and network vulnerabilities
- Monitor network activity for any suspicious behavior and respond to security incidents, analyzing breaches to ascertain underlying causes
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards
- Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard sensitive information
- Provide training for employees on best practices for data security and regularly conduct awareness sessions about potential threats
- Prepare comprehensive reports on security incidents, detailing resolution steps and proactive measures, ensuring security documentation is current
- Assess the security practices of third-party vendors to maintain compliance with organizational standards
