Application Engineer - CNC Programmer

- Review and translate drawings and job specifications to coordinate set-ups and operations for production. - Identify and establish best practices for machining processes and select the appropriate tooling to ensure quality and cost efficiency. - Utilize CAD/CAM software to create tooling paths and determine necessary cutting tools for various multi-axis operations. - Verify tool paths using Vericut software and produce setup documentation and tool lists for machinists. - Document standards for engineering changes and improvements, providing training materials and instructions for setup procedures. - Engage in discussions with engineers, supervisors, and machinists to address process, quality, and completion issues to support continuous improvement initiatives. - Collaborate in the design of complex work-holding fixtures and gauges. - Coordinate with tooling vendors to evaluate and select cutting tool technologies for high-temperature superalloys in the Gas Turbine Industry. - Develop prototypes and test new methods alongside shop floor personnel to gather feedback for potential enhancements. - Support the Quality Department in identifying and rectifying programming issues contributing to non-conformities. - Conduct time studies and job cost reviews to ensure compliance with organizational standards and create and maintain necessary documentation. - Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
