Requirements

Must:
- Minimum of five years of experience as a senior network engineer, focusing on IT infrastructure systems in enterprise settings. - Proven experience in VMware NSX, covering design, deployment, and management. - Strong foundation in network engineering, particularly concerning LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and security. - Proficient with core AECC networking technologies: NSX, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco Routers, Cisco Nexus, and Catalyst switches. - Familiarity with the VMware product suite, including NSX, vSAN, vSphere, ESXi, ARIA, and related tools. - Capability to diagnose intricate issues concerning VMware environments and network setups. - Experience utilizing network automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform, alongside scripting languages like Python and PowerShell. - In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and MPLS. - Strong skills in automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). - Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. - Comprehensive troubleshooting skills across technology stacks, including network, storage, server, and applications. - Working knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) process. - Practical experience with container platforms and orchestration. - Understanding of Kubernetes networking (CNI) and storage (CSI) principles. - Experience managing Kubernetes applications using Helm charts and maintaining container images in a registry. - Familiarity with GitOps principles and related tools like Argo CD and Flux. - Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M IA Tech Level II certification is required. - DoD Secret security clearance is necessary.

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with government engineers to design and sustain the AECC architecture. - Create, deploy, and uphold Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for network architecture within the AECC. - Implement IaC for the setup of the network foundation as applications are hosted on the AECC solution. - Manage daily network operations, including patching and upgrading all components. - Monitor network resource health and usage; alert the AECC lead to critical issues and resource needs. - Secure the network according to best practices and mandated government cybersecurity standards. - Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for any issues affecting the hosting platform network. - Develop and sustain documentation regarding systems, infrastructure, and processes, including system diagrams and standard operating procedures. - Provide on-call support for resolving production incidents outside of regular hours. - Propose recommendations to enhance security, scalability, manageability, and performance of the AECC network enclaves.
