Requirements
Must:
- Over 7 years of experience in backend engineering with a solid foundation in Python
- Demonstrated experience in constructing and managing ML model serving systems or ML platforms in a production environment
- Profound knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, and microservices architecture
- Successful history of collaborating across team boundaries to execute intricate, cross-functional projects
- Exceptional communication abilities, proficient in liaising with Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Engineers
- A collaborative mindset with a focus on maintaining low ego and sound technical judgment
- Experience with ML frameworks and serving tools is a plus
- Familiarity with feature stores, model registries, or MLOps tools is advantageous
- Experience in e-commerce, subscription, or personalization sectors is preferred
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage robust infrastructure for the live serving of ML models in a production setting
- Serve as the technical liaison between the Data Science and Backend Engineering teams within the CVO tribe, translating Data Science requirements into scalable engineering solutions
- Establish and promote best practices for model serving, APIs, and system architecture across various squads
- Lead technical initiatives spanning multiple squads, from architectural decisions to hands-on implementation
- Collaborate with Data Scientists to ensure models meet production readiness criteria, including performance, observability, and maintainability
- Contribute to engineering standards at the tribe level and influence the technical roadmap
- Mentor and provide support to engineers across squads without direct managerial responsibility
