Requirements
Must:
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, ideally in logistics, 3PL, warehousing, or distribution.
- Demonstrated success in supporting multi-site operations and facility expansions.
- Experience guiding both infrastructure/operations teams and application or WMS functions.
- Strong history of managing external vendors and service partners.
- Proficient in enterprise infrastructure and networking architecture (warehouse edge environments).
- Understanding of WMS functional concepts and supply-chain application ecosystems.
- Familiarity with integration techniques commonly employed in logistics settings (EDI/API).
- Experience with budget management and ROI-focused decision making.
- Builder mentality with a capacity to create scalable systems and teams.
- Comfortable working in warehouse, construction, and executive environments.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical trade-offs in business terms.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work with standard office equipment.
- Occasionally lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for new site launches and visits.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with operational growth and facility expansion.
- Establish and uphold company-wide standards for design, architecture, and deployment consistency.
- Convert operational objectives (throughput, density, uptime) into scalable technical solutions.
- Oversee IT readiness for new distribution centers from planning through to first-day shipping.
- Develop a replicable Site-in-a-Box model for rapid and standardized site launches.
- Manage a national network of MSPs, ISPs, and low-voltage partners to adhere to Knight-Swift standards.
- Design resilient warehouse and corporate networks to support high-density RF environments.
- Ensure service continuity through redundancy, monitoring, and recovery strategies.
- Maintain network and system reliability for continuous logistics operations.
- Lead the warehouse application ecosystem, including WMS and related logistics systems.
- Enhance WMS functionalities to boost labor efficiency and operational performance.
- Standardize application and integration patterns to expedite client onboarding.
- Provide accurate, real-time operational visibility for team members and customers.
- Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery for critical logistics systems.
- Establish and maintain a fitting cybersecurity strategy for enterprise supply-chain frameworks.
- Identify, manage, and communicate technology risks effectively to leadership.
- Handle IT CapEx and OpEx planning with a focus on operational ROI and scalability.
- Collaborate with Commercial and Operations teams to validate technical needs and support client interactions.
