Requirements
Must:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with experience in a hotel or related field.
- Preference for candidates with at least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or relevant industry.
- Trade school or college coursework in a related field is advantageous.
- Ability to work flexible and extended hours when needed.
- Ability to exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds of force frequently, and over 20 pounds of force regularly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively interact with all levels of employees and guests in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Skilled in listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns from employees and guests.
- Effective multitasking and prioritization of tasks to meet deadlines.
- Approach all interactions with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, and service-oriented manner.
- Attend all required hotel meetings and training sessions.
- Regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards is expected, with schedules varying according to the hotel's needs.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, adhering to dress code requirements including uniforms and name tags.
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maximize productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Capable of handling and solving problems, including anticipating and preventing issues as they arise.
- Ability to process complex information and data from various sources to meet specific objectives.
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Show initiative in anticipating guest and operational needs.
- Be prepared to perform other duties as assigned by management.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs on the hotel's air conditioning system, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment (e.g. boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, electrical systems).
- Take necessary readings on equipment and monitor cooling towers.
- Replace and program televisions as necessary.
- Change out light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- Carry out furniture repairs.
- Replace or repair pumps and perform plumbing repairs on items such as clogged drains and copper pipes.
- Read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Trace and repair various types of water lines.
- Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
- Maintain records regarding repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Follow and uphold local, state, and federal codes in maintenance work.
- Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
- Paint designated areas and repair sheetrock.
- Repair all varieties of wall coverings.
- Repair and program the hotelโs electronic lock system.
