Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma or equivalent required, with experience in hotel or related field preferred.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a hotel or similar role.
- Trade school or college coursework in a related discipline is beneficial.
- Availability for flexible and extended hours as needed.
- Ability to lift over 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds regularly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating friendliness and service orientation.
- Strong listening skills to understand and address concerns from guests and team members.
- Capacity to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Attentive and courteous approach in all guest and employee interactions.
- Participation in all mandatory meetings and training sessions of the hotel.
- Consistent attendance in accordance with scheduling needs of the hotel, as per Highgate standards.
- High standards for personal grooming and appearance, including adherence to uniform policies.
- Compliance with Highgate standards and regulations to facilitate safe hotel operations.
- Initiative in recognizing productivity challenges and contributing to solutions.
- Proficiency in problem-solving, including prevention and identification of issues as needed.
- Ability to understand and apply complex information from various resources to reach objectives.
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in work-related information.
- Proactiveness in anticipating the needs of guests and operations.
- Additional tasks as delegated by management.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the property is maintained in optimal condition with minimal disruption to guests and staff.
- Repair hotel air conditioning systems, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and motor replacements.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on all operational equipment, including boilers and HVAC systems.
- Take necessary performance readings from equipment.
- Test cooling towers and log relevant readings.
- Replace and program televisions as required.
- Replace light switches, electrical outlets, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- Perform repairs on furniture as needed.
- Replace and mend pumps as necessary.
- Execute plumbing repairs such as clearing clogged drains and changing fittings.
- Understand and interpret blueprints and wiring schematics.
- Trace and repair various water lines throughout the property.
- Troubleshoot and fix kitchen equipment issues.
- Maintain records of repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Test, clean, and maintain swimming pools and spas.
- Paint specified areas as needed.
- Repair and finish drywall as needed.
- Maintain and repair various wall coverings.
- Repair and manage the hotels electronic lock systems.
