Hammock Gear is in search of a skilled website developer with robust WooCommerce expertise to assist us in maintaining, enhancing, and expanding our e-commerce site. This role is available as either part-time or contract, offering flexible hours and the convenience of remote work. The workload may fluctuate based on ongoing projects, generally ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week during the initial phase as we address a significant backlog of development tasks.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance WooCommerce product pages, templates, and site functionality.
- Identify and resolve plugin conflicts, display issues, and backend logic challenges.
- Implement updates related to product variants, pricing logic, and data-driven features.
- Assist in optimizing site speed, caching, and overall performance in our hosting environment.
- Create or update custom plugins as necessary to improve workflow and product logic.
- Work with spreadsheets, product data, and structured databases to support data-driven feature development.
- Collaborate with our team to identify, plan, and prioritize upcoming enhancements.
- Maintain transparent communication, providing consistent updates and reliable timelines.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in WooCommerce and WordPress development.
- Capability to construct and troubleshoot custom templates and plugin functionalities.
- Solid understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Experience with database-driven features or product data management is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work autonomously and communicate efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Reliable availability for part-time or variable hours.
