Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent of 4 years of relevant experience. - Expert knowledge in database administration and associated best practices. - Minimum of 6 years of experience in database management (or 10+ years without a degree). - Strong analytical and flexible communication skills. - Familiarity with Windows Server Operating Systems and security concepts (e.g., PCI & PHI). - Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DBS, DHCP, and DFS. - Understanding of network principles, protocols, and technologies. - Proficiency in Epic Cache, Cogito, Oracle, SQL, and additional database platforms, including backup and recovery processes. - Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. - Competence in using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

- Take full ownership of varied problems to achieve resolution across multiple systems and technologies. - Manage internal database systems adhering to the highest standards and industry best practices. - Execute work with significant autonomy and tackle complex issues effectively. - Demonstrate problem management and proactively prevent downtime. - Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff on database design, administration, and modeling tasks. - Advise senior management and clients on critical data and database management considerations that influence strategic direction. - Lead large-scale data/database management initiatives, including designing complex databases and capacity planning efforts. - Contribute actively to refining existing IT processes and developing new procedures to enhance service transitions and operations. - Identify areas for improvement and take initiative to address issues impacting service. - Provide operational support for Epic Cache, Oracle, Windows, and SQL Server databases. - Conduct database backups/restores, routine checks, maintenance tasks, and create new database instances as necessary. - Manage and escalate issues appropriately, collaborating with infrastructure and vendors to resolve problems. - Follow Change Management protocols in managing databases in test and production environments. - Ensure service uptime is prioritized, addressing all faults and incidents without impacting SLAs. - Schedule software upgrades or maintenance to minimize business disruption. - Perform additional duties and projects as assigned and uphold HMHs organizational competencies and standards of conduct.
