Requirements

Must:
- I currently hold a DoD Secret clearance or higher. - I possess a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline, preferably in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university. - I have a robust background in high-level programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Rust, especially in embedded software. - I have experience with low-level programming for operating system internals of Linux or VxWorks. - I am familiar with board support packages (BSP) and hardware-software integration. - I have experience integrating and configuring firewalls to protect embedded systems. - I have a background in reverse engineering and software analysis. - I have low-level programming experience with device drivers in a Linux or VxWorks environment. - I am knowledgeable across various life cycle phases including software systems architecture development, requirements definition and analysis, object-oriented development, code and unit testing, and system integration and testing. - I am proficient with software tools that support Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, defect reporting, scripting, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines. - I have a solid understanding of network protocols and communication interfaces (e.g., TCP/IP, UART, SPI, I2C). - I can interpret higher-level customer requirements and translate them into technology specifications. - I have familiarity with various electrical line replaceable units and experience in the development and troubleshooting of electronic hardware. - Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

- I will contribute to an agile and self-driven team of engineers, focusing on the development and support of embedded cyber products for ground combat vehicles. - I will support the Cyber and C5ISR product realization team, taking responsibility for Cyber and C5ISR architecture, technology, product development, evaluation, testing, and compliance within the US market. - I will apply concepts and principles from computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis in developing software for target hardware. - I will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering team members to create and assess interfaces between hardware and software as well as operational performance requirements and overall system design. - I will partake in all phases of the software development life cycle, which includes requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing. - I will develop and maintain software tools, scripts, and XML files to ensure proper configurations. - I will perform software engineering and development tasks to ensure software applications meet all accreditation and configuration control requirements. - I will design data/message protocol transformation mechanisms/applications to enable interoperability between multiple data-sharing domains. - I will utilize various software languages within a Security Enhanced embedded Linux-based operating system environment. - I will engage in peer reviews, identifying, tracking, and assessing solutions to defects. - I will manage, develop, support, and conduct trade studies and structured decisions for Cyber test design, environments, and tools, ensuring system-level impacts balance capability, cost, reliability, schedule improvement, and performance across a Cyber, C5ISR vehicle suite. - I will develop and review checkpoint and design milestone artifacts and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with contract requirements.

Description


This is a long-term contract position that is likely to transition to a direct hire. The role is based 100% onsite in Sterling Heights, MI, with an hourly pay range of $48 to $80 depending on years of experience. I am looking for candidates with the flexibility to work non-duty hours or weekends as project needs arise. Additionally, I require candidates to satisfy anthropometric size restrictions for access to military vehicles, which includes the ability to climb on vehicles and pass through hatches.
