Requirements
Must:
- Proficient in managing and maintaining network equipment from Juniper and Cisco
- Familiarity with DWDM technology and SDH/SONET standards in both European and American contexts
- Experience with circuit types including OC-3/STM-1, OC-48/STM-16, DS3/E3, and E1/T1
- Strong project management skills, particularly in network improvements and customer initiatives
- Ability to troubleshoot issues related to backbone equipment and customer circuits
- Comfortable using internal systems such as HELIX for ticket management
- Knowledge of capacity planning and traffic balancing for IP networks
- Understanding of connections between major providers like Equinix, Netflix, Amazon, Microsoft
- Experience working with Network Operations Centers (NOCs)
- Skills in constructing and programming new circuits, including performance testing
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of network equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Manage various projects in the USA region, focusing on site conditioning and network enhancements
- Address and resolve trouble tickets related to backbone equipment and customer applications
- Ensure availability of network services and reliable internet connectivity
- Plan capacity for IP traffic with multiple providers to effectively manage network load
- Provide support to our NOC in Mexico City for customer technical inquiries and circuit needs
- Facilitate the construction of new circuits for Mexican customers connecting with US companies, including programming and testing of equipment
