- Develop a testing strategy that clearly outlines the scope and risk for each feature or project initiative - Ensure comprehensive end-to-end testing methodologies are followed, including proper documentation - Configure software and hardware in the testing lab according to specifications - Verify that testing outcomes are accurate, detailed, and thoroughly documented - Communicate findings and manage logistics with Systems Analysts, Developers, and other IT key personnel - Record issues or observe results that differ from expected outcomes - Conduct quality assurance tests on all tasks and perform in-depth analysis of test results - Certify applications for progression to the next testing phase or the production environment, while generating regular testing status reports - Independently set up and execute complex test scripts - Establish test data sets that meet specific testing conditions - Create and run moderately complex SQL queries - Execute automated test scripts as required - Write or coordinate solutions for system defects and manage appropriate hand-offs and re-testing - Possibly offer technical support to fellow IT Testing Specialists - Engage in sessions to gather requirements and request information on incomplete specifications - Assist in the facilitation and coordination of user acceptance testing - Design tests aimed at learning enhancement and risk mitigation - Collaborate with developers to design automated testing solutions - Work alongside business analysts and stakeholders for exploratory testing initiatives - Confirm that stories include clear acceptance test criteria for both technical and non-technical audiences - Familiarity with performance and security vulnerability testing is an advantage - Support product owners in determining acceptance criteria for user stories
