Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in a NOC environment, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity
- 5+ years in network operations, infrastructure operations, or site reliability roles with significant experience in building and managing a NOC
- Extensive knowledge of structured incident response processes including severity classification, escalation matrices, and post-incident reviews
- Proven expertise in wireless infrastructure administration, including RF tuning and authentication practices
- Strong understanding of network management, monitoring, and security tools such as SNMP, NetFlow, SIEM, and ticketing systems
- Comprehensive experience in managing firewalls, ensuring compliance with STIG/NIST standards
- In-depth understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including DoD Zero Trust Strategy, DoDI 8510.01 (RMF), and NIST SP 800-53
- Must possess and maintain the requisite security clearances for accessing DoD networks and systems
- Ability to meet strict uptime requirements of 99.9% for core network services
Responsibilities
- Direct a team of NOC engineers and technicians, providing mentorship and training for optimal performance
- Manage daily NOC operations, including scheduling, task assignments, and performance evaluations
- Ensure continuous monitoring of network devices, systems, and applications for proactive issue detection
- Oversee the design, implementation, and improvements of NOC processes like monitoring, incident response, and change management
- Optimize SD-WAN environments, including policy configuration and traffic management to ensure robust connectivity
- Administer LAN infrastructure, focusing on advanced switch configuration, VLAN segmentation, and access control to support Zero Trust
- Lead cloud networking services across various environments, implementing secure routing and micro-segmentation
- Continuously monitor network health and capacity using telemetry and analytics to preempt issues
- Manage enterprise-wide changes using automation to minimize risks and enhance operational efficiency
- Lead responses for critical network incidents, ensuring resolution within established timeframes and conducting root cause analyses
- Maintain detailed configuration documentation, topology diagrams, and firewall inventories, updating as needed within 5 business days
