Requirements
Must:
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Data Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related field
- At least five (5) years of experience in health data science and epidemiology
- Extensive experience analyzing CMS or commercial claims data, clinical data, or other substantial health datasets
- Strong expertise in R and Python (including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn) and SQL
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization techniques
- Familiarity with DataBricks and/or Snowflake platforms
- Solid background in population-level public health with proven scientific writing and presentation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Capability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality results on schedule
Responsibilities
- Lead quantitative analyses and modeling of real-world data, including CMS, commercial claims, and clinical health data
- Conduct studies to estimate chronic disease prevalence and incidence at the population level using real-world data
- Design, implement, and refine machine learning and statistical models for surveillance and research initiatives
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and dashboards for extensive health datasets using R, Python, and SQL
- Utilize DataBricks and Snowflake for effective data processing and analytics
- Collaborate with epidemiologists, clinicians, and public health experts to interpret results and shape CDC policy and strategy
- Prepare detailed scientific reports, presentations, and publications for both technical and general audiences
- Ensure high standards for data quality, documentation, and reproducibility throughout all analytical processes
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new members of the team as required
