Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design
- Proficiency in PCB and assembly design specifically for high-speed networking interfaces and embedded CPU subsystems
- Experience with Cadence Allegro tools for schematic capture and PCB layout
- Knowledge in VHDL and FPGA design, particularly with Altera and/or Xilinx systems
- Familiarity with high-speed communication buses such as USB, PCIe, and XFI
- Understanding of DDR2/DDR3 memory design, I2C, and SPI buses
- Competence in using various hardware debug tools including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
- Experience with EMI and ESD compliance testing and mitigation approaches
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and operations teams
Responsibilities
- Execute a range of electrical engineering design tasks across multiple products simultaneously
- Design and develop hardware systems including circuit boards, processors, and memory subsystems, utilizing Cadence Allegro tools
- Create and develop analog circuits for rechargeable batteries, low voltage power supplies, and USB power delivery systems
- Formulate and maintain FPGA designs (VHDL) for advanced Ethernet packet processing
- Produce hardware design specifications and documentation for new product launches
- Partner with software engineers to build low-level drivers facilitating hardware activation and software support
- Collaborate with PCB layout teams to ensure precise signal placement and routing for optimal integrity
- Liaise with PCB layout and manufacturing teams for fabrication and testing processes
- Provide support for existing products by implementing design modifications in response to component or product challenges
