Requirements
Must:
- Expertise in the installation, configuration, and upkeep of PostgreSQL databases
- Skilled in establishing and overseeing streaming and/or logical replication along with failover protocols
- Experienced in crafting and deploying backup solutions using pg_dump, pg_basebackup, or pgBackRest, including point-in-time recovery
- Familiarity with role-based access control
- Proven experience in partitioning and handling sizable datasets
- Knowledge of database extensions
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automating DBA functions (e.g., maintenance scripts, monitoring)
- Capable of analyzing PostgreSQL logs to identify errors, slow queries, and resolve deadlocks
- Competent in diagnosing and fixing issues related to memory constraints and disk I/O challenges
- Proficient in Linux environments (e.g., RHEL) for system management and troubleshooting
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance
- Manage streaming and logical replication along with implementing failover strategies
- Design and implement robust backup architectures and conduct recovery operations
- Enforce role-based access control to secure database access
- Administer large datasets through effective partitioning and management techniques
- Utilize database extensions to enhance functionality and performance
- Develop and run scripts to automate routine DBA tasks, ensuring efficiency and reliability
- Analyze logs to proactively detect errors and optimize database operations
- Troubleshoot memory and disk I/O issues to maintain system integrity
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to continuous improvement practices
