Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience in transportation and logistics technology platforms, particularly McLeod Software
- Familiarity with PortPro TMS, LoadMaster TMS, PowerBroker, EDI platforms, and load status integrations
- Proficiency in Alpine Maintenance System and Motive (ELD and camera systems)
- Experience managing offshore technology teams is advantageous
- Knowledge of international security protocols and data governance is preferred
- Background in logistics and transportation technology
- Excellent hands-on IT leadership capabilities
- Ability to strategically plan while providing operational support
Responsibilities
- Oversee all IT operations and infrastructure within the organization
- Develop and implement IT strategies that align with business objectives and promote growth
- Ensure the efficient operation and utilization of all systems
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of existing platforms for maximum functionality
- Identify areas for improvement, consolidation, or automation in current systems
- Assist in the implementation of tools that improve operational visibility and reporting
- Mentor and manage internal IT personnel, including Hardware and Business Intelligence Specialists
- Cultivate relationships with technology vendors and external service providers
- Determine which services should be handled in-house versus outsourced
- Supervise system updates, hardware management, and software lifecycle
- Provide support for laptop setups, system reboots, and infrastructure enhancements
- Ensure adherence to IT security protocols, especially with offshore teams
- Maintain system integrity, uptime, and data security
- Facilitate the development and application of Business Intelligence tools
- Enhance the use of reporting and analytics within operational teams
- Investigate and implement emerging technologies, including AI tools to streamline workflows
Description
We are looking for a Director or Senior Director of IT to spearhead and manage all technological operations within our logistics business. This role involves overseeing our IT infrastructure, optimizing systems, and managing vendor relationships, ensuring we harness technology for operational efficiency and growth. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership across various business units and report directly to the President. Our team supports four core divisions: Intermodal, Asset-Based Transportation, Warehousing, and Freight Brokerage. We offer a competitive salary of $125,000 to $175,000 per year along with benefits including a 401(k), health and dental insurance, flexible scheduling, paid time off, and vision insurance. Our operations are primarily onsite.
