Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline with 5-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent expertise.
- Must be eligible for an active Secret security clearance.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
- Familiarity with Registration Authority (RA) and/or Trusted Agent responsibilities within a DoD context.
- Basic knowledge of digital certificates, CSR formats, and trust pathways.
- Understanding of security and compliance frameworks related to PKI (e.g., NIST, DoD RMF).
- Strong analytical skills for identity and certificate management challenges.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities for stakeholder engagement and training.
- U.S. Coast Guard experience is highly desirable.
- Advanced PKI or ICAM certifications (e.g., Certified Identity and Access Manager) are a plus.
- Experience with enterprise identity solutions and risk assessment techniques is advantageous.
- Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services, Entrust, or comparable PKI systems.
Responsibilities
- Follow the guidelines set in the Certificate Practice Statement and enforce Coast Guard protocols.
- Verify the identity of requesters and their access privileges for certificate issuance.
- Handle enrollment requests for privileged accounts and server TLS certificates.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving certificate-related problems, including revoking compromised certificates.
- Offer direction and training to Coast Guard Trusted Agents regarding certificate protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with DoD and Coast Guard security regulations.
- Guarantee precise record-keeping for all certificate requests and approvals.
