Requirements
Must:
To be considered for this position, you should possess a High School diploma and have at least 9 years of relevant experience, or equivalent. A SECRET clearance is mandatory. Proficiency in Windows 10/11 is essential, along with basic knowledge of Unix/Linux and Cisco networking. Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 and system authorization processes is also required. You should have experience with secure data transport protocols and a solid understanding of Configuration and Change Management processes and tools. In addition, the ability to operate mobile assets in varying field conditions, along with strong troubleshooting and customer service skills in helpdesk settings, is necessary. Excellent verbal communication and technical writing/documentation skills are also important.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will ensure the seamless operation of computer systems, which includes managing operating systems, software, and hardware, whether in networked or standalone configurations. I will maintain system integrity and implement necessary upgrades to systems and servers. I may also develop and document new methods to support network and system operations, as well as initiate changes to procedures. I will consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical personnel to resolve issues, while coordinating and conducting operations and maintenance activities for networks and servers. Identifying recurrent problems and suggesting measures to mitigate their severity or frequency will also be part of my responsibilities. I will administer Windows 10/11 (primarily), Unix/Linux, and Cisco systems for data capture and processing, and ensure system reliability. Additionally, I will configure secure transport methods—such as digital serial, fiber, IP, P2P, and satellite links (e.g., Starlink/Starshield)—for field deployment, ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-53 for system authorization sustainment, and troubleshoot deployable networks and hardware in operational settings, often under tight deadlines and remote conditions. Integrating with imagery production workflows for high-speed and thermal data analysis will also be key.
I will oversee system updates, backups, monitoring, and incident response within secure networks, providing Tier II technical support to users in both field and facility environments to ensure timely issue resolution and maintain operational continuity. I will apply and maintain Configuration and Change Management processes and documentation using approved tools to uphold system integrity, traceability, and compliance throughout the lifecycle. Creating and maintaining clear technical documentation (such as SOPs, diagrams, and logs) and effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will also be part of my duties.
